History:  The airline was established in September 2003 having their first flight took off on the 19th of May 2004 from Katowice. Today Wizz Air offers over 420 routes from 25 bases in the region: Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Serbia, Lithuania; Macedonia,Latvia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia and Slovakia. Poland is still the largest market for Wizz Air.
The airline's CEO and chairman is József Váradi, former CEO of Malév Hungarian Airlines. The company is registered in Budapest (Hungary). On 25 February 2015 Wizz Air started trading on London Stock Exchange.

Operations: Wizzair has its main base in Budapest, but has since expanded dramatically over eastern and cental Europe becoming the airline of choice to fly there from Western Europe. It also has expanded its serviced as far as Israel and United Arab Emirates.

Fleet:  Wizzair bases it's fleet around the airbus family aircraft. Although it was an exclusive operator of the A320, now it has added the largjer A321 on its trunk routes.

Personal Review:

 Cheap fares as long as you buy early. Further discounts are available if you become a member of the wizz club. Food and drink for purchase only.
 Aircraft and cabin comfort are good compared to other low cost airlines. Most aircraft are recent or less than 10 years old. Heavy penalties for excess baggage and rebooking.
 Great network for selected flights to Eastern and Central Europe No free seat selection. Random seat assigned for free 7 days in advance online.
 Availability to include Hotel + flight packages at very good prices. ( Charges for boarding passes issued at the airport. Free for home printing or mobile.
 Good customer service before the flight and post departure. (Bookings) Charges for large cabin bag, only permitting a briefcase or small bag for free as hand luggage.
